Laurie graduated from University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy in 1985 and in 1993 graduated from Des Moines University with her Masters degree in Health Care Administration. Throughout the years she has worked in a variety of settings including urban and rural hospitals, outpatient clinics, nursing homes and for home health agencies. She joined Sports Rehab in 1993 as their first Occupational Therapist and has managed the Occupational Therapy program since that time. Currently she works at Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove treating inpatients, outpatients and local nursing home residents. She specializes in treatment of hand and upper extremity injuries however she also has extensive experience with treatment of neurological disorders and geriatric patients. She also assists patients who have suffered a work related injury and has been involved in many work injury prevention programs throughout the years. She has been lymphedema certified since 2007. She enjoys working with her patients to help them achieve their goals of independence in work, home and leisure tasks.
